Here's the comment I posted on Examiner:
"There's a little bit of an apples and oranges issue here, the way I see it. Kris and Adam have two different fan bases because of their different styles. I can't see the two of them doing a concert together in the future with the two different audiences; that just wouldn't make sense. Some music lovers will buy both albums, but in general Adam's fans will buy Adam's and Kris's fans will buy Kris's. If not for their honest-to-goodness friendship and the AI tour, they'd be traveling in totally different circles by now, and that's perfectly fine! As for me, I'm middle-aged and from Arkansas, so Kris Allen and his style are much more appealing to me. I wish Adam every success, but I won't be buying his records. Come to think of it, the competition that is being kept alive by the press (though is getting a bit tiring to read about) could result in record album sales for both with one group of fans trying to outdo the other. Aha! Now I get it!"

Everything in the music industry (or entertainment industry) is about money. It is the driver behind American Idol. The winners are commodities to be displayed and purchase. We shouldn't wonder why Adam is being pitted against the others. What you said is true. I as an Adam fan likes his music and his performance style. I will only purchase Adam's music. I will not buy other music as i don't like their music. Anyway, as a fan i would like idol tour to end, this way both artists can just go their separate ways. I just want to enjoy Adam's music and would like all these AI thingy to fade away. I really don't care about the rivalry coz for me nobody can top Adam.
