Tony Has Left The Building

Elvis Tribute Artist Tony Witt
We had a treat last night. My husband and I attended a local performance of Elvis tribute artist Tony Witt. It was a small event, put on by one of the teams of our local American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. I hope the fundraising was as successful as the evening was fun.

Tony does a great Elvis, looks the part, dresses the part, and most definitely sings the part. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Check Tony out at his web site or on YouTube and if you live in the mid south and ever need to arrange for some great entertainment, be sure and contact him.

I did learn something about our local population last night. The ladies in the audience appeared perfectly normal with the lights on, but as soon as those auditorium lights went dim and Tony-as-Elvis took the stage, some of those women went totally wild! I might be looking at some of my neighbors just a little differently from now on, especially if I see them wearing a sweat-stained scarf.

Kris Allen, Arkansas Idol

It's American Idol night. I'm supporting our local-boy-made-good, Kris Allen from Conway, Arkansas. He sang a Garth Brooks song tonight, "To Make You Feel My Love. "

The audience loved his performance. All four judges loved it. His fans on Twitter loved it. I loved it.

Kris is a genuinely good guy. I hope he goes far on Idol. I know he'll go far in life.

Forward Thinking Could Pay Big Bucks

Just saw this article link posted on Twitter. ToysRUs bought the toys.com domain name for $5.1 million. All agree that it was a great strategic move for the company and well worth the price.

Reselling domain names is obviously a big business, even in this economy. I need to dream up a name that someone is going to want someday but hasn't thought of yet, then invest 10 bucks a year to sit on the domain. If only my imagination were that good.

Can you think of one?
